News for AW 2025 in JUL

Updated: Jan 19

I hope everyone stays healthy in this hot weather.

Although the world may seem to be running in its own way, we want to move forward trusting that God is the One who reigns over our lives and the world.

Here are some updates from last month:

  1. JL underwent a biopsy due to severe cervical dysplasia, and the results for possible cancer will come out on the 10th. Her child injured their wrist and had it in a cast, which has now been removed. She mentioned that she knows about many government benefit resources and would like to help single moms. She plans to share this information at the single moms’ gathering on July 20.

  2. JS was unable to attend the recent interview due to a family matter.

  3. SK said that through the recent divorce trauma recovery seminar, she was able to reflect on herself and decided to reconcile with her child’s father. Therefore, support for her will be discontinued.

  4. BK has been very sick with a cold and is experiencing difficulty in daily life due to gout. She continues to work about twice a week caring for children at a preschool.

  5. YY will be going to court on July 24 regarding custody issues with her child’s father. Her two daughters are receiving individual counseling, and she is also receiving treatment for domestic violence. Although they are living in a studio, they are finding psychological stability, and the children are finding comfort and joy through their new pet cat.

  6. JK is working part-time and finds much comfort in her child. However, she is struggling as the child’s father continues to file lawsuits regarding custody schedules and child support.

  7. SM said her child had a high fever and was very sick with Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease. It was difficult for her as she couldn’t work while caring for the child. She has applied for counseling to help the child accept the father’s death.

  8. MC is raising three children while working at a hair salon during the week and studying at a beauty school on Saturdays. She will take the beautician license exam in August. It is inspiring to see her living with such a positive attitude.

  9. SS is continuing to work at the laundromat. Her son has graduated and started working part-time, so she can finally breathe a little easier. She has applied for low-income housing and hopes to find work that is less physically demanding than the laundromat job.

  10. ML is still experiencing a slow business. To avoid damaging her credit, she has put her house up for sale and plans to use any remaining funds to pay off debts. She plans to apply for low-income housing. Thankfully, her child is doing well academically, which brings her comfort.

  11. On Saturday, July 13, from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM, Professor Jenny Park will give a lecture. As this will be a member training session, we encourage many to attend.

  12. On July 20, instead of the summer picnic for single moms, we will hold a seminar to share information about government benefit resources. It will be held at Saeh Jangro Church from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. After the seminar, we will have lunch together with the moms. Mentors are encouraged to attend if possible.

  13. We received a letter from In Sook Kim, a missionary in Kyrgyzstan. Please check the letter on the AW website and pray for her.

We pray that God’s heavenly blessings will be upon each and every one of you for your prayers and loving devotion.
