AW 2026년 1월 소식

A new year has dawned.

We pray that the coming year will be a year in which we all share abundantly in the blessings the Lord has granted us.

We would like to share news from last month.

  1. YL has been actively participating in events held by the city and the local community together with her son. Through these activities, they are experiencing American culture, building relationships with neighbors, and improving their English skills. Her hair salon business is gradually growing.

  2. JR continues to receive treatment at an oriental medicine clinic due to lingering effects from a car accident. Although she has not yet officially started her tattoo business, she has been practicing with acquaintances. After moving to Orange County, she is thankful that her daughter has adjusted well to her new school.

  3. DJ took her child to urgent care due to illness, but thankfully the child was discharged without complications. She applied for a U Visa in November of last year, and a phone court hearing with the child’s father is scheduled for February.

  4. EP changed divorce attorneys in order to finalize her divorce. Despite being very busy with taking her three children to and from school, preparing for the divorce, and addressing her children’s needs, she is working 80 hours through IHSS while also running a skincare business. She is relieved and grateful that her son has adjusted well to school.

  5. HJ shared that her son has applied to several universities and is awaiting positive results. She interviewed for a new job but was not selected. She is currently looking for a new home, as she needs to move in March.

  6. EH has left her job. She has applied for EDD benefits and is currently seeking new employment opportunities.

  7. YY successfully completed surgery for uterine fibroids and was pleased to receive a promotion at work. She also shared that her son has begun counseling due to trauma related to his relationship with his father.

  8. JJ is deeply concerned as her daughter, who had previously been doing well academically, has seen a decline in grades and recently ran away from home. The situation has been emotionally overwhelming, especially as her daughter’s struggles have added to existing hardships. Counseling was attempted for her daughter, but the counselor discontinued the sessions.

  9. RC was unable to attend this meeting.

  10. On Saturday, January 31, the Korea Daily will host the Turtle Marathon event, during which fundraising will take place for nonprofit organizations that support the Korean American community. Accompany Worldwide has been selected as the beneficiary organization for the first time. We kindly encourage your participation. A related news article link is provided below.

  1. This is an update from Missionary Won-Oh Hong in Nepal.

The eldest son of Dra, a single mother raising five children after the loss of her husband, has applied to Asian United Theological University (ACTS) in Korea to pursue pastoral ministry and is currently awaiting the decision. Although there was strong opposition at first—since the eldest son had been providing financial support for the family and planned to study for the ministry—his faith has grown, and he now receives this calling with gratitude.

The younger siblings are also growing well in their faith and are scheduled to be baptized this April.

  2. Accompany Worldwide is now able to receive donations through Zelle. You can make a donation to Accompany Worldwide Inc. via Zelle using (213) 398-9572.

  3. On Saturday, January 17, at 10:30 a.m., the Accompany Worldwide New Year Gathering was held at the AW office.

During the meeting, the 2026 plans were shared, new members were introduced, and participants enjoyed a time of fellowship and relationship-building.

  4. Receipts for 2025 tax reporting purposes will be sent out on Friday, January 23.

We wish you good health throughout the year, and we sincerely thank you for your prayers and support.
