“We give thanks to the Lord, who provides for all our needs so that we can continue doing the work that pleases Him without worry.”

Here is an update on what happened last month.

  1. YL could not attend the meeting because she had to visit Korea with her son due to her father’s illness. She informed us that her father’s surgery went well and that she has returned safely.

  2. JR shared that someone broke the window of her parked car and stole some belongings. Although she has insurance, she was worried because of the deductible. She continues to care for seniors while also learning tattoo art.

  3. DJ was unable to attend the meeting because of moving and being unwell.

  4. EP missed the morning meeting because her car broke down and she had to get it fixed. She eventually attended the last session in the late afternoon. She also mentioned being delayed further due to her son’s separation anxiety when leaving home. Her father was ill, and with the help of her siblings in Korea, she was able to purchase tickets and travel with her children for two weeks. She was comforted by being able to see her father before his passing. She also enjoyed a meaningful time in Korea, where her children met their cousins for the first time.

  5. HJ shared that on Independence Day, her former coworkers (who had also worked with her late husband) visited her home. She and her son enjoyed a wonderful time with them after two years. It was also her son’s birthday, and many people celebrated with him, which was a great source of comfort for him.

  6. EH visited her children in Ohio for eight days, spending time shopping and swimming together. Although her children have developmental disabilities, she was relieved to see that their stepmother is treating them well and that the children like her. On June 27, her divorce from her current husband, who is in prison for drug-related charges, was finalized. She continues to look for low-income housing and is searching for job openings in social work.

  7. YY said that her son was initially thought to have ADHD at school, but after further evaluation, he was found not to have it. She remains separated from her husband due to his debts, and recently received a letter from the California Tax Board demanding overdue taxes. She is currently consulting with a divorce attorney.

  8. JJ was unable to attend the meeting because her car was repossessed after she fell behind on payments.

  9. RC could not attend the meeting because her son injured his leg.

  10. On July 27, Dream Tree took nine children from AW families to Universal Studios. They had a wonderful and memorable time.

  11. News from missionary Rev. Won-Oh Hong in Nepal: A young man named Daji Sager, who graduated from high school in Nepal and then worked in Korea for six years, has received a calling to pastoral ministry. He is currently working at a factory in Eungbong-myeon, Yesan-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, while preparing to study theology at Mokwon University. He has submitted his application and asks for prayer that his admission for the spring semester will go smoothly. This young man had to support his mother and four younger siblings after his parents divorced when he was 15, due to his father’s domestic violence and alcoholism.

  12. Professor Jenny Pak’s lectures will resume this month. We encourage many to join.

We hope you stay healthy during this hot summer. We are always grateful for your prayers and support.
